Japanese Exports of HR Steel Flat Products Increase by 8.4% Year on Year

Japan exported 1.1 million tons of hot rolled (HR) steel flat products in October, falling by 7.4% from a month earlier while rising by 4.7% year on year, according to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance.

In the first ten months of this year, the country's exports of HR steel flat products totaled 11.4 million tons, increasing by 8.4% year on year.

In the given period of time, South Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese HR steel flat products with 3.17 million tons, down by 8%; China was the second largest one with 1.17 million tons, decreasing by 8.3% and Vietnam was the third largest one with 789,498 tons, increasing by 2.3%, all compared to that in the same period of a year ago.
