According to data, Japan exported 352,586 tons of heavy plates this March, jumping by 41.7% from a month ago.
Meanwhile, the country’s export prices of heavy plates averaged at US$649.3/ton FOB in March, up by 1.8% month on month.
In March, Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese heavy plates with 86,636 tons, soaring substantially by 74.3% from a month ago. The export prices averaged at US$729.2/ton FOB, rising by 3% from February.
Besides, China was the second largest buyers with 55,703 tons, increasing by 18.7% month on month. The export prices were at US$711.3/ton FOB, remaining flat from the previous month.
