According to statistics, Taiwan's imports of large-diameter wire rods (with diameter larger or equal to 14mm) amounted to 13,339 tons in the January-October period, soaring by 41.1% year on year. However, the import prices of large-diameter wire rods slumped by NT$5,050/ton year on year to NT$25,833/ton. Meanwhile, Taiwan's exports of large-diameter wire rods totaled 52,785 tons in the first ten months of this year, down by 8% in comparison of 57,396 tons in the same period of 2012. The export prices averaged at NT$22,391/ton, decreasing by NT$3,158/ton from average prices in the same period of a year ago.
