N.C. Mathur, the president of the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association and advisor to Jindal Stainless Limited, India's stainless steel output is expected to hit 4 million tons by 2015. Meanwhile, the growth of the Indian stainless steel production should be at around 9% this year, making the output rise from 2.95 million tons last year. He added that India's stainless steel demand is driven by the automotive, railway, transport industries, building and construction sectors. Besides, he pointed out that the Indian steel producers have more opportunities since the country's imports have fallen over the past two-three months due to depreciated Rupees.
