Recently, the prices of cold rolled (CR) austenitic stainless steel products have continued falling. At present, the mainstream quotes are at US$2,450/ton CFR. It’s known that the prices of CR austenitic stainless steel products have kept falling after LME nickel prices dropped to break the price level of US$15,000/ton. In fact, the Japanese steelmakers have sought to raise the prices for CR austenitic stainless steel by US$70/ton to reflect higher chrome prices. However, the price rise was unfavorable to buyers.
