Laird Glass & Upholstery has set up shop at its new building at 42320 E. Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth Township, moving from its previous location just down the road in the City of Plymouth.
Tim Laird, president of Laird Glass & Upholstery shares the story behind his business with Plymouth-Canton Patch.
When did your business start?: 1983
How did your business get its start?: Five of the Laird brothers wanted to open their own business. Since then, two have retired from the business but Tim, Terry and Mike remain.
How did you end up in Plymouth?: Originally located on Main Street in Plymouth, the Plymouth-Canton area was a growing, exciting community.
What kinds of goods and services do you offer?: Commercial, Residential and Automotive Glass, Mirrors, Tabletops, Automotive Upholstery, Convertible Tops. Showers, Euro Style Shower Doors, Decorative Glass Door and Sidelight Inserts.
Tell us something most of your customers might not know: Family-owned, Michigan-based business. Tim and Krista Laird and their children live in and support the Plymouth community. Tim personally comes out and does all of the estimates.
We just moved from the west side of Plymouth Road and Lilly to the old Fox Hills Body Shop building on the east side of Plymouth Road and Lilly.
Which part of your business stands out the most?: Quality products and services that is based in and supports the community. Residential and Commercial Glass, Automotive Glass. Euro Doors are very popular and increase the value of your home!
