A total of 10 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the Peruvian apparel sector would be showcasing their latest products at the 18th edition of the Peruvian international fair for the garment industry 'Peru Moda 2014', scheduled to be held from April 9 to 11, in the Peruvian capital city of Lima.
According to a statement issued by the Peruvian Ministry of Production (PRODUCE), 10 MSMEs from five different Peruvian regions would be partaking at Peru Moda, under the aegis of the COOPERA PERU program of the Ministry.
The Ministry selected the 10 MSMEs through a competition where more than 50 Peruvian MSMEs operating in the garment sector of the country contended for an opportunity to showcase their products at the three-day international trade fair.
The selected MSMEs belong to the Peruvian regions of Cusco, La Libertad, Arequipa, Lima and Ica, and they would be presenting various textiles, alpaca, and garment products during the show.
According to the Ministry, the objective of the COOPERA PERU program is to increase participation of Peruvian MSMEs in national and international fairs, in order to provide them an opportunity to establish contacts with domestic and global entrepreneurs with the aim of increasing trade.
The Peru Moda fair, organized by the export and tourism promotion board of Peru (PromPeru), with support from the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) and the Foreign Trade Society of Peru (COMEXPERU), is expected to gather more than 9,000 visitors from 45 different countries, and more than 350 exhibitors would be showcasing their latest products during the three-day event.
