The China government is likely to raise the target total capacity for PV systems installed around China in 2014 from 13GWp to 15GWp, consisting of 11GWp for ground-mounted PV power-generating stations and 4GWp for distributed (mostly rooftop) PV systems, according to PV industry sources in China.
An alternative upward adjustment is to hike total installation capacity to 16GWp, with 8GWp for ground-mounted PV power-generating stations and distributed PV systems each, the sources said.
Since the total capacity of PV power-generating stations and distributed PV systems installed in the first half year was only 3.3GWp, the China government is expected to give more incentives to boost installation in the second half year, the sources indicated.
