RF front-end component maker and foundry services provider Inc of Hillsboro, OR, USA has received the 2012 Corporate Wellness Award from technology trade association TechAmerica, in recognition of the firm promoting internal employee wellness. TriQuint's 'Live Well' initiative gives employees and their families not only the tools and resources, but also the motivation to make good choices about their overall physical, mental and financial health, says the firm.
In addition to offering employees and their spouses biometric screenings, educational courses and a host of other programs, TriQuint partnered with TechAmerica to offer a wellness walking challenge, in which 428 active participants from TriQuint took part, the most of any firm participating. Employees from TriQuint sites around the globe formed 124 teams for the friendly eight week competition, and walked or ran more than 230 million steps collectively.
"One of the most rewarding things about implementing a Wellness Initiative like 'Live Well' at TriQuint has been seeing how passionately our employees all over the world have embraced it. Employees have told us that our programs have literally saved their lives. There is nothing more rewarding than that," said Debbie Burke, TriQuint vice president of Human Resources. "We continue to listen to our employees' suggestions on how to make the programs more relevant to them, and the changes are really making a difference. We are honored to be recognized for the Corporate Wellness Award by TechAmerica."
Burke accepted the award for TriQuint at TechAmerica's 54th annual David Packard Medal of Achievement and Innovators Award Dinner on 9 October.
