In February 1964 a group of aerosol manufacturers got together in Melbourne to discuss how they could go about raising quality and safety standards in the then rapidly developing industry.
That group became the Aerosol Association of Australia, and March 2014 will mark its 50th anniversary. Fifty years deserves a little bit of looking back and a lot of looking forward, and that's exactly what the association is going to do.
aerosolsydney2014 runs from 1 April and will include an industry forum featuring international and local speakers, an invitation-only cocktail function to celebrate the association's 50th, the Aerosol Industry Awards Gala Dinner, and the annual meeting of the Asian Aerosol Federation.
The awards have been running for twenty years. "Along the way we have fine-tuned the Awards Categories to reflect contemporary issues such as recycling (and now sustainability) and of course the entry criteria has been widened - first to New Zealand and for 2014 to the membership of the Asian Aerosol Federation - to reflect the regional interest and audience which they attract," association executive director, Philip Fleming noted.
