According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March of the current year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 7.6 percent year on year to 88,397 units, up 45.7 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in March this year totaled 51,402 units, increasing by 49 percent as compared to February and up 14.7 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations. New small truck registrations in March, on the other hand, increased by 32 percent month on month and were down 11.6 percent year on year, amounting to 13,287 units. Small truck registrations constituted 15 percent of total new registrations.
