Chief Automotive Technologies has redesigned the Upper Body Bar, which is included with every LaserLock Live Mapping system, to allow users measure a damaged vehicles upper half.
The redesigned Upper Body Bar features out-of-level measuring capabilities, and it can be used with a two-post lift for blueprinting repair plans. Its top bar can be connected to a vehicles radiator supports, fender supports, deck lid openings, roof and strut towers.
In addition, the Upper Body Bar can measure caster and steering axis inclination, and makes the repair process quick by measuring the suspension point on both sides of the vehicle at the same time.
Chief parent Vehicle Service Group global data product manager Lee Daugherty said: "We have added a pivot point to the self-leveling Upper Body Bar, so now it works the same way as the underbody LaserLock targets when used in out-of-level situations.
"With the Upper Body Bar, LaserLock is the only system that can simultaneously measure two reference points on the top half of the vehicle and deliver real-time information to the user.
"LaserLock's ability to measure the whole vehicle, including the top half, allows shops to make better, more efficient repairs."
