The Michelin X One Line Energy T Pre-Mold retread has a winged tread designed to maximize shoulder adhesion. Waved groove bottoms prevent stone drilling for added durability.
Less than four years after topping one million Michelin X One tire sales in North America, Michelin Americas Truck Tires has reached the two million mark.
Michelin celebrated the milestone at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATTS). It also introduced the Michelin X One Line Energy T tire and the X One Line Energy T Pre-Mold retread.
"Since the introduction of the X One, Michelin has led in the wide-base single category with tires and retreads for every application, many on their second or third generation," said Ted Becker, vice president of marketing for Michelin Americas Truck Tires (MATT). "The adoption of the X One technology has accelerated because of the fuel and weight savings it brings to our customers."
The X One Line Energy T tire for line haul applications features Michelin's Advanced Casing Technology, which keeps the contact patch consistent regardless of payload weight. The result is a "significant reduction" in irregular wear.
The tire has solid shoulders and microsipes that also help resist irregular wear. Compared to the Michelin X One XTA, it delivers a 15% improvement in removal mileage.
The SmartWay-verified tire is available in size 445/50R22.5.
Along with this new tire, Michelin is also offering the new Michelin X One Line Energy T Pre-Mold retread. Also SmartWay-verified, the linehaul trailer retread has a full 13/32nd-inch tread depth, and up to a 15% improvement in removal mileage (when retreaded on an X One Line Energy T casing) compared to the Michelin X One XTA Pre-mold retread on a Michelin X One XTA casing.
