(China Glass Network) “Notice for Strengthening Supervision and Management of Pharmaceutical Glass Packing” issued by State Food and Drug Administration announced that there is interaction between part of the injection drugs and pharmaceutical glass packing, which may cause potential risk. The notice require that pharmaceutical glass packing that can’t meet “Governing Principle for Compatibility Test between Pharmaceutical Glass Packing and Pharmaceuticals” are prohibited to be used immediately.
The notice also regulate that packing material for pharmaceuticals should be chosen by the characteristics of the pharmaceuticals, injection of biological product, meta-acid partial alkali and sensitive to PH should adopt 121℃ particle method pharmaceutical glass with surface water resisting property of first grade and internal surface water resistance of HC1. Quality audit and retrospective analysis for pharmaceutical glass packing materials are needed regularly, pharmaceutical manufacturers should also establish files of supplier quality and investigate compatibility between the drugs and pharmaceutical glass packing at fixed period.
