Audi has announced that its first plug-in hybrid vehicle, Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, is available for order in Europe, and it will be handed to customers in winter.
The electric car features 1.4 TFSI gasoline engine along with an electric motor, giving the vehicle system output of 150kW. The car consumes 1.5 liters of fuel per 100km, and CO2 emission of 35g per kilometer.
It gives 900km in combine mode and 50km under electric power.
Audi plans to introduce at least one charging station to each dealer in Europe.
It has already launched Audi energy program in Germany, where technicians will install the charging doc in customer's home.
Audi Germany sales head Wayne Griffiths said: "For Audi, the A3 Sportback e-tron marks another important step toward sustainable individual mobility."
"Our dealers have had an entirely positive response to the A3 Sportback e-tron, which shows that the combination of efficient drive technology and a sustainable energy source is really what the market is looking for."
