Polysilicon price in China to stabilize at US$25/kg once government begins anti-dumping investigation Nuying Huang,Taipei;Jackie Chang,DIGITIMES[Friday 22 June 2012]The price of polysilicon in China will stabilize at US$25/kg if the government starts anti-dumping and anti-subsidy probes into US-and South Korea-based firms,said industry sources.
China-based firms believe if China starts the investigations,the price of domestic polysilicon will increase rapidly but drop back to US$25/kg in half a month.The price is likely to stabilize at US$25/kg,said industry sources.
Although a stable price is estimated at US$25/kg,this is still below production costs for many China-based polysilicon firms.For firms that have halted production,suspensions are likely to continue.
Industry sources added that the dumping issue is more or less under control as firms have been cutting production after clearing out inventories.
