It's reported that the Korean steelmaker Posco Specialty Steel announced to remain its domestic prices for austenitic stainless wire rods and bars unchanged for September due to higher nickel prices in mid-August. The official of Posco SS said that the nickel prices jumped suddenly in August but the rise was not strong enough to pass the costs to the customers. Meanwhile, the country's production of special bars totaled 1.2 million tons in the first half of this year, decreasing by 8% year on year, according to data released by the Korea Iron & Steel Association.
