This week in weird tech, we bring you the AIRE Mask, created by designer Joo Paulo Lammoglia. The AIRE uses your own breath as the kinetic charger. Just wear the mask while you sleep, or even better, when you go for a run, and your breath activates small wind turbines within the mask sending an electrical charge to your hand device.
Before you pull out your credit card, not so fast. Joo Paulo Lammoglia has said that this is only a concept design that was inspired by watching children blow on pinwheels. There doesn’t seem to be any production plans in the works anytime soon, even though it won the Red Dot Design Award in 2011. Other concepts the 27-year-old designer has thought up include a self-powered UV water filter, a charger that uses kinetic energy produced by walking, and a doormat that powers a doorbell by sweeping your feet on it.
Manufacturers Warning: The use of the AIRE Mask may increase chances of being attacked by Ewoks during the night and the risks of Mortal Kombats on the street.
