Bed frame manufacturer The Knickerbocker Bed Co. has appointed 20-year industry veteran Joe Hunt as its vice president of sales and marketing.
Hunt most recently was vice president of Eastern region sales for bedding source Dormeo Octaspring, where his responsibilities included creating sales strategies, adding new retailers and the recruitment and training of sales representatives. Before that he worked at Pure LatexBliss.
"Joe is an outstanding leader in our industry and we're excited to have someone of his caliber join our team," said Knickerbocker CEO Richard Polevoy. "He is a unique talent with experience in the trenches developing brands and fostering substantial growth. Joe will be able to provide strategic sales and merchandising insight for our customers to ultimately drive incremental sales and generate higher margins."
"In the bedding industry, there's a growing importance being placed on accessories, such as premium bedframes," said Hunt. "I see tremendous potential for expansion in this category and that's why I'm thrilled to be joining the Knickerbocker team at this time."
Before joining Dormeo Octaspring, Hunt co-founded Pure LatexBliss, a manufacturer of latex mattresses, where he also was executive vice president of sales. In that role, Hunt also handled operations, including product design and raw material sourcing.
In 2004, Hunt was vice president of sales for Ashley Furniture's Northeast Region. Earlier, he spent 16 years in sales at Simmons.
