Unity Opto said it expects monthly revenues to show a sequential increase in the third quarter, and sales growth in September has been strong.Total revenues from July-August were NT$1.6 billion, close to 90%of total second-quarter revenues, hence market observers believe revenues in the third quarter will show strong sequential growth.
Formosa Epitaxy saw August revenues reach NT$450 million,up 2.7%on month and 18%on year. The firm has been benefiting from increasing shipments of the Nexus 7 and LED lighting products.
The firm expects gross margins in the third quarter to show a significantly increase compared to the second quarter.Despite operating at full capacity since March-April,Formosa Epitaxy reported EPS of negative NT$0.28 in first-half 2012 due to low prices of TV backlight products.

Edison Opto announced flat August revenues at NT$196 million. The firm added that demand in the LED lighting market has been flat, despite rapid market growth in China.Nevertheless,China's LED lighting market is relatively risky as payments are often delayed or uncollected, hence the firm has been careful about selecting orders.Edison Opto indicated that current utilization rate is around 65-70%with order visibility of 1-1.5 months.
Epileds reported revenues of NT$104 million for August, which is lower than July. The firm indicated that capacity utilization rate has been around 80%with order visibility of one month.Epileds also noted that fluctuations in China's LED lighting market have been causing the firm to be selective about orders.Epileds expects revenues in the third quarter to show a sequential decrease.
