New retailer Rolling Hills Bikes recently opened in downtown Moscow, home of the University of Idaho. Andrew Pratt and Collin Priebe moved to Moscow from Bellingham, Wash., where they both worked for several years at Kulshan Bikes.
Pratt and Priebe chose to start their business in the small college town because they love the area and saw a need for another bike shop. Priebe was also born and raised in nearby Pullman, Wash., and wanted to get back to his roots.?
Pratt said that the Moscow cycling market was ripe for another shop.
"There is a huge cycling community here," he said. "The biking is great and the timing was good."
The 1,500-square-foot full-service shop sells bikes from Jamis, Transition and Traitor, and primarily caters to the growing commuter market. "Since college students make up about half of this town, we are focusing on daily-use bikes," said Pratt.?
A grand-opening celebration is planned for sometime this fall.
