Laminam has acquired the Balabanovo factory in Russia
Laminam has acquired a majority shareholding in the company “Laminam Rus” and in the ownership of the Balabanovo factory in Russia. The acquisition was signed on March 10 at the Italian Embassy in Moscow before the Governor of the Oblast of Kaluga Anatoly Dmitriovich Artamanov. The agreement was signed between Laminam President Franco Stefani, Laminam CEO Alberto Selmi and the entrepreneur Timirovich Akhmetov.
This change to the shareholding structure confirms the trend towards growth and internationalisation of LAMINAM, an Italian company specialising in the production of large-size, minimum-thickness ceramic slabs, distributed throughout all five continents.
The acquisition of the Balabanovo factory, which will be used to produce 3 and 5 mm thick 1000×3000 mm slabs and to serve both the Russian and other markets, joins the equally recent acquisition of the 45,000 square meters production facility in Borgotaro (PR), to host the new lines for the production of 1620x3240x12 mm ceramic slabs, implemented thanks to an investment in systems totalling over € 30 million. These two new production facilities, acquired in the space of a few months, will join the Italy’s main Laminam factory in Fiorano Modenese, thus tripling production capacity.
LAMINAM is a young, dynamic brand, deriving from a sophisticated industrial culture that has been able to extend the sizes and potential of traditional ceramic tiles, making them an eclectic, new-generation material, and this move confirms the company’s ability to think differently and to use material innovation to explore new avenues, both in Italy and abroad.
