Canadian developer ADF Group's proposal to annex and re-zone 100 acres north of the town in order to house a 300 employee steel mill has received preliminary approval. A final vote by the City Commission is still pending.
The proposal was met without opposition, according to an ADF Group spokesperson. Once a final go-ahead is received a 100,000 square foot building will be constructed and designated as a steel fabrication facility. Company officials are hopeful to begin construction in early 2013 and to have operations up and running toward the end of the year.
