It's reported that the three major cold rolled (CR) steelmakers in Korea including Hyundai Hysco, Dongbu Steel and Union Steel imported 232,000 tons of CR base materials, rising by 12% from a month ago. Among them, 208,000 tons were from Japan, soaring by 30%; 24,000 tons were from China, falling by 45%, both compared to those in a month ago. It's analyzed that the Korean CR steelmakers increased the imports of CR base materials from Japan due to depreciated Japanese Yen.
