General Motors (GM) has recalled some of its 2005-2007 mid-size SUV models due to an issue over power-window switch short circuit.
With a potential to set the car on fire, the short has forced the automobile manufacturer to caution owners against parking the affected cars inside until the malfunction is fixed.
The short is likely to be caused by fluid seeping into the power-window switch module, causing corrosion and conking the circuit board.
Models to be affected include the 2006-2007 GMC Envoy, Chevrolet Trailblazer and Buick Rainier along with the 2005-2007 Saab 9-7x and Isuzu Ascender of 2006-2007.
Sporadic failures, such as overheating accompanied with a burning smell, smoke or fire and windows raising or lowering themselves, even in an unused vehicle has prompted GM to advise vehicle owners of the affected models to park their cars at a distance from their houses. A total of 184,611 vehicles were recalled.
