Zhanjiang Iron & Steel 2150mm CC equipment contract signing ceremony was initiated on July. 12th in Zhanjiang. Auer, President of Siemens VAI, Zhao Zhouli, Deputy Manager of Baosteel Group Co., Ltd., President of Zhanjiang Iron & Steel, Project Director of Zhanjiang Iron & Steel, and related personnel from Siemens VAI and Baosteel attended the ceremony.
Zhanjiang Iron & Steel 2150mm continuous caster is one of the main Zhanjiang Iron & Steel projects, with designed annual capacity of 6 million ton. Main product is domestic medium & high end slab with main steel grade of pipe line steel, high strength container plate, high strength railway trunk steel, high strength steel and IF steel. 2150mm continuous caster is a dedicated line with constant casting speed. Hot metal pretreatment-LD-secondary refining is rationally matched with the caster to set up reasonable, stable and high quality production process and smooth billet logistics. When completed, it will become the world class CC line with less operator to product flawless slab.
Siemens VAI is the world renowned engineering and equipment manufacturing company in steel industry, covering the business area of the whole steel production process, keeping the long term good partnership with Baosteel in many field as hot rolling, cold rolling, heavy plate, continuous casting, COREX and environmental protection, etc. In this project, Siemens VAI is responsible for the whole process and part of equipment & control system integration.
Both have expressed that over the years, Baosteel and Siemens VAI have cooperated in an extensive and friendly way. Now both joining hands again in Zhanjiang Project will promote our conventional friendship. Construction of Zhanjiang 2150mm continuous caster will further consolidate and strengthen Baosteel's leading position in China's steel industry.
