This was quite unusual for this time there, and there was considerable opposition and through a series of events, DJs began to take the stage and so did…disco balls.
To pay hommage to the first disco or discotheque in Europe, the design studio Mashallah created Scotch Club, a reduced version of a disco ball in a suspension lamp. The Scotch Club's ceramic spotlight is made out of 75 facettes. When used as a ceiling light, the facets seem to shimmer around the surrounding area, just like the reflections off of a disco ball.
