Recently, the transactions of Taiwanese single rerolling mills’ Al-killed finished steel wires have deceased as steelmakers are unwilling to cut prices to gain orders.
It’s learned that the transaction prices of Al-killed finished steel wires have dropped to NT$23,500~NT$23,000/ton in the Taiwanese market after China Steel Corp. (CSC) offered promotion of low-priced wire rod and cut its list prices for steel wires and bars.
Meanwhile, the downstream buyers still own sufficient stocks in hand.
For the prospect, industry sources predicted that the transactions of Al-killed finished steel wires may remain weak in the short term.
