According to data released by Taiwan’s customs, Taiwan’s imports of wire rods totaled 26,303 tons in July, soaring by 62% from a month ago. Among them, the imports of wire rods with diameters less than 14mm totaled 24,538 tons, jumping by 58% from the previous month. Meanwhile, the country’s import prices of wire rods averaged at NT$19,423/ton, falling by NT$437/ton from a month ago. In addition, Taiwan exported 16,551 tons of wire rods in July, falling by 5.5% from June. However, the country’s export prices rose by NT$286/ton from a month ago to NT$23,051/ton.
