Following a poor start to the year in terms of housing approvals in Germany, the first six months showed growth after all of 4.9% and reached 113,963. According to the federal German statistics agency in Wiesbaden, approvals for apartments in newly erected buildings showed a year-on-year increase of 5% to 101,813 and for apartments in new residential buildings a rise of 5.3% to 99,857.
