NEC Display Solutions of America has obtained 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its 24-inch MultiSync MD242C2 widescreen display for diagnostic review applications in healthcare organizations.
MultiSync MD242C2 features a 24-inch IPS panel and 2.3-megapixel resolution with wide viewing angles, GammaCompMDtm QA software for worry-free calibration and conformance to the DICOM standard, factory calibrations to the DICOM grayscale function for luminance, and others.
The medical diagnostic monitor features an integrated front sensor that constantly monitors and adjusts brightness to maintain the factory DICOM GSDF calibration. The device also features a human presence sensor that can automatically dim the screen to conserve power and display life.
It offers a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 1920x1200 native resolution with 180cd/m2 of calibrated brightness.
Using Picture Archiving and Communication System, MD242C2 meets the needs of healthcare facilities requiring consistent and accurate medical imaging.
The display offers DisplayPort, DVI-D, HDMI and VGA inputs, and a built-in three-port USB Hub with DisplaySync Pro.
NEC Display Solutions Professional and Medical Displays product manager Art Marshall noted the MD242C2 diagnostic display is the latest in the NEC MultiSync Medical Series to receive the necessary FDA market clearance designation.
"Healthcare professionals, in turn, have a fully-featured review display that is able to keep pace with their rigorous work requirements," Marshall added.
The MultiSync MD242C2 comes with a five-year limited parts and labor warranty including Advanced Overnight Exchange.
