In January of the current year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 19,585 mt, falling 24.1 percent, and were worth $63.49 million, down 21.7 percent, both compared to the same month of 2013, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).
In the given month, Colombia imported 271,468 mt of iron and steel, increasing by 3.4 percent year on year, with a value of $232.48 million, up 1.6 percent.
Meanwhile, in January this year, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 12,833 mt, increasing by 20.3 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $53.74 million, down 10.6 percent, both compared to January 2013.
