German Exports of Oak Roundwood Have Dropped Again by 32% in The Third Quarter of 2012

German exports of oak roundwood have dropped again by 32% in the third quarter of 2012 after a brief recovery (+19%) in the second quarter. According to the German Federal Statistical Office, a total of just 11,074m³ of oak roundwood was exported from Germany between July and September. Deliveries to Denmark (-60 %), the Netherlands (-44 %) and China (-37 %) showed particularly conspicuous decline. In the case of China, the downhill slide seen in the previous quarters has continued in the third quarter as well. As early as the first quarter, oak roundwood exports to China had plunged 57%. This was followed by a 70% slump in the second quarter. Oak roundwood exports to Denmark and the Netherlands, by contrast, had grown in the first half of the year.
