Dubai Police Seize 850, 000 Fake Hp Printer Supplies

Police in Dubai have confiscated 850,000 counterfeit HP items, including flat boxes, security labels, empty laser print cartridges, print cartridge bags and labels and finished print cartridges, in a raid on a showroom and store of a Dubai-based company in March.

The raid on the Dubai-based company was part of HP's ongoing anti-counterfeit programme, which launched in the region in  2006, according to Middle East website ITP.net.

The raid was the second major anti-counterfeit action undertaken by law enforcement working with HP this year, and brings the total number of fake print items seized in the region to over two million since 2011.

"HP is once again grateful to the Dubai Police and the increasing pressure they put on counterfeiters, who cheat customers and take business away from honest merchants," said HP general manager, imaging and printing group, Amin Mortazavi. "This is just one more step in an unyielding campaign to eradicate fake merchandise and protect the public."

In previous raids, police seized a large quantity of fake Brother toners.
