Brazil plans to lower import taxes for machinery used to produce digital TVs, personal computers, semiconductors and other telecommunications products, O Estado de S. Paulo reported, citing Mauro Borges Lemos, president of the industrial development agency that’s known as ABDI. The tax reduction, which will apply only to machines that aren’t produced in Brazil, aims to boost the country’s competitiveness, the newspaper said. Source: bloomberg.com
