MOFCOM International Trade Representative and Vice-Minister Zhong Shan Jointly Signs the MOU of Trade and Investment Joint Working Group between China and Michigan the United States with the Governor

MOFCOM International Trade Representative and Vice Minister Zhong Shan met with the Governor of Michigan the United States in Beijing on August 25 and jointly signed the MOU of Trade and Investment Joint Working Group between China and Michigan the United States.

Zhong said that the trade and economic cooperation between provinces and states of China and the United States is an important foundation and positive driving force of the trade and economic relationship between China and the United States. The MOFCOM, together with five provinces and cities such as Zhejiang, Hubei, Guangdong, Chongqing and Sichuan, signed the MOU of Trade and Investment Joint Working Group between China and Michigan the United States with Michigan, which will help China and the United States carry out more targeted and effective cooperation and explore a new road to deepen the trade and economic relationship between five provinces and cities of China and Michigan. He hoped that both sides can expand cooperation in all fields, enhance personnel exchanges, promote cultural communication, promote the trade and economic cooperation between the provinces and states of China and the United States to a higher level and contribute to building a new pattern of relationship between these two great powers by the platform of this working group,

Snyder said that the government of Michigan pays high attention to developing the relationship with China and is willing to further strengthen the cooperation in all fields such as business and trade, tourism, education and culture with China. He expected to deepen the trade and investment connection in important fields such as automobile, chemical industry, agriculture and tourism with five provinces and cities of China. The government of Michigan will provide assistance to the cooperation of enterprises between the two countries and deepen their friendship through favorable service and substantial spirit.

The trade and investment joint working group of China and Michigan the United States is the 5th important trade and economic cooperative mechanism established at a local level by the two countries. Since 2003, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, together with 21 provinces and cities, has successively set up the trade and investment joint working groups with California, Chicago, Iowa, Texas and Michigan. The mechanism of working group builds new platforms for the two countries to carry out cooperation in many complementary trade and economic fields. It also plays a positive role in enhancing personnel exchanges and expanding the trade and investment cooperation.
