According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the prices of farm produce in 36 large and medium-sized cities rose slightly, and prices of production means in circulation fell in a narrow range last week (August 17–August 23).
Last week, prices of poultry and eggs fluctuated slightly, with the price of eggs up 2.2% and chicken down 0.2%. The average price of 18 kinds of vegetables was up 1.1%, leading by tomato, lettuce and green bean, up 10%, 5.7% and 4.4% respectively. The price of meat saw ups and downs, with the price of beef up 0.5%, pork up 0.3% but mutton down 0.4%. The average price of aquatic product increased 0.1%, with the price of chub, crucian and large yellow croaker up 0.9%, 0.5% and 0.2% respectively. The price of grain and oil remained steady, with prices of rice, flour, soybean oil, peanut oil and rapeseed oil staying the same as that of the previous week.
Last week, the price of nonferrous metals was down 1% compared with that of the previous week, with that of nickel, copper, tin, lead and aluminum down 2.9%, 1.6%, 0.9%, 0.7% and 0.3% respectively, while that of zinc up 0.1%. The price of steel was down 0.2%, with that of galvanized sheet and H-shaped steel down 0.7% and 0.6% respectively. The price of basic chemical raw materials was down 0.2%, with that of purified petroleum benzine and methyl alcohol down 1.9% and 0.9% respectively. The price of rubber decreased 0.2%, with that of natural rubber down 1.1% while that of synthetic rubber up 1%. The price of chemical fertilizer was down 0.1%, with that of urea decreasing 0.2%, and that of NPK, Kalium Chloratum and DAP remaining steady. The price of coal was basically steady, with that of anthracite down 0.1% and that of steam coal and coking coal remaining the same.
