Prices of Farm Produce Continue Falling and Price of Production Means Rise Slightly

According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the prices of farm produce in 36 large and medium-sized cities continued to fall, and prices of production means in circulation rose slightly last week (May 11-March 17).

Last week, the average price of 18 vegetables was down 4% compared with the previous week, among which the prices of green pepper, chilli and white radish decreased by 13%, 9.3% and 5.7% respectively month on month. The prices of eggs and poultry dropped slightly, with the prices of chicken and eggs down 0.5% and 0.4% respectively compared with the previous week. The price of grain remained stable, with the prices of rice and flour remaining unchanged as the previous week. The price of aquatic product was up 0.2%, with the prices of little yellow croaker, chub and carp up 0.8%, 0.7% and 0.7% respectively month on month. The price of edible oil rallied slightly, with the prices of soybean oil and rapeseed oil up 0.4% and 0.1% respectively, and the peanut oil remaining the same as that of the previous week. The price of mean fluctuated slightly, with the prices of pork and beef up 1.2% and 0.2% respectively compared with the previous week and the price of mutton down 0.5%.

Last week, the price of basic chemical raw materials was up 0.9% compared with that of the previous week, with the prices of methyl alcohol and sulfuric acid up 1.3% and 1.2% respectively. The price of chemical fertilizer was up 0.2%, with the prices of urea, kalium chloride and diammonium phosphate up 0.3%, 0.1% and 0.1% respectively, and the price of NPX remained the same. The price of rubber was up 0.1%, with the price of natural rubber up 0.4% and the price of synthetic rubber down 0.2%. The price of nonferrous metal was down 0.2%, with the prices of tin, zinc, nickel, lead and aluminum down 2%, 1.2%, 0.8%, 0.5% and 0.5% respectively and copper up 0.4%. The price of coal was down 0.4%, among which the prices of steam coal, blind coal and coking coal were down 0.4%, 0.3% and 0.3%. The price of steel was down 0.5%, with the prices of hot-rolled common sheet and common round sheet down 0.9% and 0.8% respectively.
