Ministry of Commerce to Make Final Review on Anti-Dumping Measures against Imported Purified Terephthalic Acid from ROK and Thailand

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce released its Announcement No. 24 on August 10, 2015, , and decided to start the final review on anti-dumping measures against imported purified terephthalic acid from ROK and Thailand from the date of the announcement.

The Ministry of Commerce issued its Announcement No. 47 on August 12, 2010, deciding to levy anti-dumping duty on imported purified terephthalic acid from ROK and Thailand from August 12, 2010 for five years.

The purified terephthalic acid industry of the Chinese Mainland petitioned for a final review on the anti-dumping measures against imported purified terephthalic acid from ROK and Thailand on June 10, 2015, and for continuing implement of the anti-dumping measures. The Ministry of Commerce decided to start the final review because the petition accorded with the condition for case filing. According to the Regulations on Anti-Dumping of the People’s Republic of China, if the review determines that the termination of anti-dumping duties may result in the continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury, the time limit for the levy of the anti-dumping duties may be reasonably extended.
