China's Ministry of Finance and National Development and Reform Commission have jointly held open price-bidding competition for 2012-2013 LED lighting subsidies of which the total amount may be as much as CNY1.0 billion(US$157 million),with 30-50 recipients to be selected from 113 competitors,according to industry sources in Taiwan.
The China government originally held the competition in March 2012 but did not announce the results due to the worry that too large a difference in bid price was likely to cause disorder in the market,the sources pointed out.Thus,the government re-started the competition recently,the sources noted.
Prices bid at this time are nearly 30%lower than those bid in March,with an average of nearly CNY15/W for outdoor LED lighting and that of CNY9/W for indoor LED lighting,the sources indicated.However,efficiency specifications are 4-6%higher.
For LED street lamps,the highest price for 9,000-lumen models is CNY4,080,lower than CNY9,200 bid in March,and prices for 14,000-lumen models are about CNY6,440,the sources noted.Prices bid for 9,000-lumen LED street lamps average CNY1,560 and the corresponding power consumption levels average 101W,while the average price for 14,000-lumen models stands at CNY2,150 and the average power consumption level is 153W.As compared with bidding in March,prices for LED street lamps drop by about 30%.
For indoor LED lighting,prices bid for 4-inch 8W downlights are as low as CNY50 and at an average of CNY80,33%lower than bid in March,the sources pointed out.Prices bid for 6-inch 15W downlights concentrate in about CNY100,with an average of CNY128 36%lower than bid in March,the sources indicated.
The China government expects the proportion of all lighting products for LED lighting to reach 5%in 2012 and aims to hike it to 30%along with total production value of CNY500 billion in 2015,the sources pointed out.
