On November 29, MOFCOM Vice Minister Gao Yan attended the 9th China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection General Discussion Forum held in Tokyo Japan and delivered a keynote speech.
Gao pointed out that at present, the Chinese government regards the energy conservation and environmental protection industry as the new initiative industry of accelerating cultivation and development, and the Chinese government make efforts to build a resource-saving and environment-friendly society. During the 13th Five Year Plan, green development will be one of the five development concepts leading China to fully construct a moderately prosperous society. The investment scale of the energy conservation and environment protection society is expected to reach RMB 17 trillion, which will boost the transformation and upgrading of Chinese economy and sustainable development, and provide broad market and infinite business opportunity for enterprises in all countries including Japan.
The China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection General Discussion Forum was founded in 2006, jointly held by the National Development, Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Embassy in Japan, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Japan-China Economic Association.
