LGC has reached an agreement to acquire Cambridgeshire-based Quotient Bioresearch's bioanalytical sciences division.
The acquisition will allow Quotient's bioanalytical sciences division to form a part of LGC's health sciences division allowing it to offer a range of products and services such as bioanalysis, materials science and reference materials along with others.
LGC health sciences managing director Jeremy Cook said, "We continue to develop our range of first-rate services in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agrochemical sectors by offering our customers a unique mix of technical experience, leading edge facilities and knowledgeable people."
As a part of the deal, the organizations will work together as preferred partners to offer bioanalytical sciences.
The Bioanalytical Sciences business will do business in the name of Quotient under its new ownership for now.
Quotient Bioanalytical Sciences managing director Dr Steve Pleasance said, "LGC's focus on complex analytical chemistry, high quality science and service delivery make them a natural home for our business."
