Prices of Farm Produce Continue Falling and Prices of Production Means Stop Rising and Begin to Fall

According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the prices of farm produce in 36 large and medium-sized cities continued to fall, and prices of production means in circulation began to fall after a 3-week increase last week (May 18-March 24).

Last week, the average price of 18 vegetables was down 1.8% compared with the previous week, among which the prices of cucumber, bitter gourd and chili decreased by 7.9%, 7.7% and 5.4% respectively month on month. The prices of eggs and poultry dropped slightly, with the prices of eggs and chicken down 0.5% and 0.3% respectively compared with the previous week. The price of edible oil was steady but fell, with the prices of rapeseed oil and peanut oil remaining the same as that of the previous week and that of the soybean oil down 0.3%. The price of grain remained stable, with the prices of rice and flour remaining unchanged as the previous week. The price of aquatic product was up 0.1%, with the prices of large hairtail, chub and small hairtail up 1.5%, 0.9% and 0.8% respectively month on month. The price of mean fluctuated slightly, with the prices of pork and beef up 0.5 % and 0.2% respectively compared with the previous week and the price of mutton down 0.6%.

Last week, the price of nonferrous metal was down 1.2%, with the prices of nickel, copper, zinc, tin, lead and aluminum down 5.1%, 1.6%, 1.4%, 0.8%, 0.3% and 0.1% respectively. The price of steel was down 0.9%, with the prices of both high speed wire rod and deformed steel bar down 1.1%. The price of rubber was down 0.7%, while the price of natural rubber and synthetic rubber down 0.8% and 0.6% respectively. The price of coal decreased down 0.2%, among which the prices of steam coal, coking coal and blind coal were down 0.2%, 0.2% and 0.1%. The price of basic chemical raw materials remained the same as that of the previous week, with the prices of methyl alcohol and purified petroleum benzine down 0.5% and 0.3% respectively. The prices of chemical fertilizer were up 0.3%, with the prices of urea and NPK up 0.7% and 0.1% respectively, kalium chloride remaining the same, and DAP down 0.1%.
