Drawing Inspiration From Chocolate Wrapping

Drawing inspiration from chocolate wrapping, this Changing Vase allows for its owners to change the pattern of their vase by just peeling back one of its decorative layers. This was originally part of “Chocolate”, an exhibition curated by Naoto Fukasawa and the Issey Miyake foundation.

The design itself was created by Front, an all female design studio based based in Sweden. The addition of printed wrapping makes the vase into an exploration of decoration and form. Just like the days of peeling away the foil wrapping on miniature chocolates and exposing the surprise inside. The Changing Vase is a chocolate brown glass vase with five layers of foil. When you grow tired of the printed patterns of the vase and need a new look, simply peel one layer off and start anew with a brand new pattern.
