The ASTM Subcommittee F15.42 who responsible for Furniture Safety, has recently revised and updated the Safety Specification for Chests, Door Chests, and Dressers to ASTM F2057-09.
Compared with the previous edition ASTM F2057-04, additional performance and labeling requirements were specified in the new edition with details of changes summarized in the following table.
Section | Major Changes in ASTM F2057-09 |
1. Scope | Update the scope to cover products of chests, dressers, door chests, chest-on-chests, tall chests, lingerie chests, bureaus, and armoires; and specify all standard measurements in inch-pound units. |
