A Small Ozonizer Module Developed by Murata Can Be Used to Generate Ozone

A small ozonizer module developed by Murata can be used to generate ozone in a range of deodorising applications in consumer, industrial and automotive accessory applications.

Bacteria can proliferate in many appliances such as refrigerators and dish washers resulting in mildew, odors and creating potential health risks.

Previously, ozone-creating units have been too large and expensive to incorporate into consumer appliances.

Using a discharge electrode and a dielectric electrode within low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) element the MHM500 ozonizer creates a stable supply of ozone.

The ozone element measures 14.2 x 31.5 x 17 mm, and the power supply module 36 x 50 x 24 mm.

The module operates from a 12V input voltage and has a power consumption of around 1W.
