This incandscnet influenced light bulb has a twist to it, 25 twists to be exact. Designed by J.P. Meulendijk the “Spare” chandelier uses 25 incandscent light bulbs, 24 of them function as a lamp shade for the single light bulb that is illuminated in the center.
When the one light bulb in the center burns out, simply remove one of the other usable light bulbs from the lamp shade portion of the chandelier and screw it in the center light socket. Per the designer, “Don’t throw it away then: you can still use it as a lampshade or as a light-bulb-tribute- relic.”
If you anticipate using one light bulb a year, this chandelier will last for 25 years. The “Spare” chandelier was originally created back when incandscents were readily available, however since then the designer has transitioned the interior incandescent light bulb to meet environmental standards by replacing it with a clear LED bulb that is said to last 50 plus years. Even better!
