Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa painting hangs in the secure environmentally controlled halls of the Louvre in the heart of Paris, France. For years the Mona Lisa’s contours, shadows and glazes were illuminated with a those old time, now banned and not so efficient light bulbs. If lighting effects how you view an item how about the details and colors of art? If a lighting designer installed the wrong lighting system to illuminate the Mona Lisa, everyone’s perception of the Mona Lisa could change.

For instance light temperature colors. The new lighting system that the Louvre has installed to spotlight the Mona Lisa’s beauty is an LED lighting system. LEDs are available in different color temperatures and if the designer (this is completely hypothetical) used to much blue in the lighting this would give Mona a whole new look. And in some cases blue is good, except for a famous art piece like this.
