Electronic Hookah Pens Are Gaining Massive Popularity in The E-Cigarette Category

Electronic Hookah Pens are gaining massive popularity in the E-cigarette category, while spearheading the industry's growth through fruity flavors and zero nicotine options, which consumers are demanding.

The electronic cigarette has rapidly become one of the fastest selling products in recent history. With sales surpassing $1.7 Billion in in the United States in 2013, even Big Tobacco cant help but bite a chunk out of this ever growing pie. Through the acquisition of up and coming e-cigarette companies such as Blu Cigs and GreenSmoke, and the development of their very own line of e-cigs, the three largest tobacco companies in the world are now major players in the e cigarette industry.

E-cigarettes have become such an enormous industry, that it has spawned its own sub-category of e-hookah pens, made specifically to cater to a growing demand for flavored e-cigs. But what is an e-hookah and how is it different from traditional hookahs? Most importantly, what's the difference between an electronic hookah and an e-cigarette?

An e-hookah, also called hookah pen, e-shisha, and e hookah stick, is an electronic vaporizer (similar to e-cigarettes) that is meant to resemble the experience of smoking a traditional hookah or shisha. It is easy to use and requires no assembly or clean up, unlike the "old school" hookahs. Hookah pens are often available in many tasty fruit flavors and usually contain far less nicotine than electronic cigarettes. But a trend has been growing. More and more hookah smokers (who are mostly non cigarette smokers) are demanding zero nicotine e hookah pens. Companies such as NEwhere Premium Vapor Products have developed full product lines of zero nicotine e-hookah in addition to their traditional e-cigarette lines.

According to Nielsen data, in 2013, NEwhere was one of that fastest growing electronic cigarette companies in the country. Company executives are now reporting that the success of their new zero nicotine e-hookah pens, which were launched just a few short months ago, is already far exceeding sales projections for 2014 due to the increase in consumer demand.

With federal regulations on electronic cigarettes looming in the distance, the zero nicotine e-hookah trend couldn't have emerged at a better time for this ever so popular industry. After all, how can you regulate an e-hookah as a smoking device when it doesn't create smoke? How can you regulate its nicotine content or quality, when it doesn't contain nicotine? Simply put, you can't.
