If light could express sorrow and tears, this could be it. Not to put a sad plague on this ceiling lamp from the designer Ingo Maurer but the Lacrime del Pescatore (fishnet) Pendant Light can be seen in two completely different view points. Even though it is named The Fisherman's Tears (this is the English translation), your matter of perception will be relative to whether you believe the glass is half full or half empty. Take away the name and you may see the beauty in this light sculpture without feeling the sorrow of the fisherman's tears.

This ocean inspired hanging lamp uses a fishnet platform to hang an array of sparkling jewels and light. Gorgeous up close and from afar, this sculptural light piece is composed of three nylon fishing nets (of varying styles), 350 crystals, and a wall mounted halogen light bulb. One could almost imagine the joy and sorrow that infests a fisherman's daily duties. This light piece embraces both emotions with an even emotional connection to light and design.
